Bakehouse on Somerville is looking for talented Full Time Bakers and Bakers Assistants!
We're a new bakery in Winthrop (opening October), dedicated to creating delicious, handcrafted baked goods with a focus on quality and tradition. As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us bring our vision to life.
Position Overview:
We are seeking Full-Time Bakers and Baker's Assistants who are enthusiastic about baking and eager to learn or share their skills. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with their hands, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and baking of a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofers.
- Decorate and finish baked goods, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and products.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a baker or baker's assistant is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for baking.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy bags of flour or other ingredients.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
