Cafe Assistant (Junior)

The Opportunity

Café Panini is nestled into our busy Bunbury Retravision store, and we are excited to be looking for juniors to join our casual employee pool.

As a part of our casual pool, you will need to have availability to cover times ideally for the cafe's opening hours of: 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday (we can be a little flexible) over school holidays.

The café is closed over the weekend, so no weekend work required!

About You

We do have the loveliest customers, and we are looking for someone who truly understands customers are the bedrock for our mutual growth and long-term success.

Ideally, you will have a passion for making delicious sandwiches and panini (of course!) to baking cookies, pastries and cakes to wanting to learn about making amazing coffees!

You will be able to help with food preparation, cash handling, and taking orders.

Essential requirements

• Availability to work school holidays
• Have a positive attitude
• Professional and reliable
• An understanding of workplace health and safety
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

 Desirable requirements

• Ability to complete a FoodSafe Food Handler Training Program
• An interest in learning how to become a barista
• Ability to make cakes and bake
• A valid current Western Australian Driver’s Licence
• Police Clearance (less than 2 months old)

About Us

One of the South-West’s much loved family businesses and Employer of Choice, Dorsett Retail Pty Ltd, incorporated Café Panini in their Bunbury Retravision store in 2009.  The Café is popular with customers, is a licensed venue and also provides outside catering. 

Dorsett’s are a big group with a family feel and have been a household name since 1961.  With 3 generations as part of the team, the Dorsett family are actively involved across the group and are well known and respected within the community.  Dorsett’s have businesses across Western Australia; in South Australia and the eastern stages, and currently employs approximately 170 people including our lovely café team.
