About the role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cafe Assistant with commercial cooking skills to join our friendly team at the Women & Infants Research Foundation's cafe in Subiaco, Western Australia (KEMH Based). In this casual position, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food & beverages as well as exceptional customer service to our valued customers. 


What you'll be doing


  • Assisting with food preparation, including cooking and sandwich making
  • Serving customers and taking orders in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Maintaining a clean and well-organised kitchen & cafe environment
  • Restocking and rotating inventory as needed
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all customers

What we're looking for


  • Relevant experience in a similar cafe or hospitality role
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, welcoming personality
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic food handling and safety certifications (or willingness to obtain them)
  • A certificate in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality will be viewed favourably
