About the business and the role



Whistler's Chocolate Co is a West Australian and family owned business that has a Chocolate Showroom  and Café in the Swan Valley for over 10 years.  The café serves light meals, iced drinks, coffee, cakes and desserts. Our café requires a person with previous hands on café supervisor / management experience to be able to guide the team, provide excellent customer service, assist customers with bookings, work with the chocolate shop managers and be able to do the day to day operations of stock take and ordering. 



The Position is for the following days:


  • Sunday 8.30 - 4.30 
  • Monday 8.30 - 4 
  • Tuesday 8.30 - 3.30 
  • Wednesday  8.30 - 3.30
  • Thursday 8.30 - 3.30

or 


  • Sunday 8.30 - 4.30 
  • Monday 8.30 - 4
  • Thursday 8.30 - 3
  • Friday 8.30 - 3

There is possible room to negotiate finish time to 3pm on weekdays 


Job tasks and responsibilities



The position requires the following:


  • to be well presented
  • have excellent communication skills

  • to be hands on in customer service
  • to be able to work under pressure
  • excellent leadership and team management skills
  • to supervise café staff and delegate duties 
  • to be able to guide, lead and direct the team
  • skills in kitchen preparation and cooking - desirable but not essential
  • be able to make coffee
  • ensure cleanliness of the café 
  • to be able to manage café stock and food ordering
  • be able to oversee rosters
  • excellent time management
  • to work with and communicate with the Chocolate Shop team 


Skills and experience



The essential skills and experience required for this role:


  • previous café experience
  • previous supervisor or management experience 
  • strong leadership and organisational skills
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • great team work
  • manage rosters
  • barista skills preferred but not essential
  • experience working in a kitchen desirable but not essential
  • knowledge of café operations ie stock control, receiving goods and ordering stock
  • knowledge on presentation of food
