Coffee Roaster and Barista

Yallingup Coffee Roasting Company is looking for highly skilled coffee roaster and barista to work in the beautiful south west WA.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for all things coffee and a keen eye for detail. 

As the primary coffee roaster, you will need to have advanced knowledge of how different type of coffee beans blend together.  This ensures our customers are getting the most out of their time in our café, as you are the main point of contact for customers with questions regarding our different bean blends. You will also be responsible for general maintenance of our ProBatone 25 roaster and weekly stock take of green beans.

You will be responsible for making coffees to order, taking orders and payments, running orders and clearing tables.  Previous experience packing and preparing coffee in a busy fast paced environment is essential.

This position entails roasting beans 3 days a week preparing and serving coffee the other 2 days.  The skill level required is a certificate 3 or at least 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

Job Description

• Start to end coffee bean roasting process on a ProBatone 25 machine
• Cupping of blends and single origin beans to establish flavour profiles
• Ordering and maintaining stock levels of our green beans
• General maintenance of ProBatone 25 machine
• Managing the influx of orders through wholesale and website customers and ensuring we have enough beans roasted to keep up with demands
• Packing bean orders and posting to customers
• Preparing, serving and selling a variety of coffee beverages such as lattes, cappuccinos and other espresso-based beverages
• Cleaning and maintaining coffee-making areas and espresso machines
• Collecting payment for sales and operating cash registers
• Promoting services and products
• Washing glassware and arranging bottles and glasses
• Replenishing drink dispensers, shelves and refrigerators
• Selling light snacks
• Selecting and grinding coffee

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST HAVE:

• Certificate 3 or at least 3 years relevant work experience
•   A strong knowledge of ProBatone 25 Coffee Roasting machine is essential
• National Police Check
• Live locally within the South West region
