Location


Located in the heart of the Ellenbrook Community, Aegis Hermitage caters for up to 120 residents and provides Low, High and Dementia specific care. Aegis Hermitage also provides a modern working environment for staff. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cook to join the team. As Cook you are a valuable member of the team working under direction and support of the Chef Manager.


A working day will involve:



  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.

  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.

  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.

  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.


About You



  • Enjoys working with the elderly.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team.

  • Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.

  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.

  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.


You should possess the following:



  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).

  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.

  • Aged Care experience (highly regarded).

  • A high level of food safety knowledge.

  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
