About the role and where you will be working:


Our residential Care team at Germanus Kent House are currently looking for a Cook to work closely with the Chef on a part time basis - weekends only.


We want our residents to feel at home, and we fully cater for all different types of dietary needs. So you’ll be serving meals that could be texture-modified or plated in a particular way.


Our residents get to enjoy freshly prepared meals, regular outings, music therapy and family-like care.


About you:


You may already be working in a similar role in aged care or perhaps you’ve worked in restaurants / commercial kitchens and are ready to try something different. 


To be considered for this role, you’ll need:



  • Prior experience in commercial cooking services

  • Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, texture modified, purees, etc.)

  • Maintaining legislated food hygiene and general safety practices

  • An understanding of specific dietary requirements

  • Knowledge of safe handling & storage of chemicals

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery from an accredited training body
