About the Facility 

Located in Mount Claremont and offering an exceptional level of luxury, Montgomery House' superb accommodation is matched equally with a unique care model where the environment encourages engagement, so Residents are able to control - and choose - how they would like to spend their day.  This beautiful Facility is seeking a Cook to join their dedicated and friendly team.

As Cook you are a valuable member of the team working under direction and support of the Chef/Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
  • A high level of food safety knowledge.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
