Mercure Perth is seeking an experienced and passionate Demi Chef to join our talented kitchen team. In this role, you will work closely with the Head Chef and assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes across various dining outlets, with a primary focus on conferences and events.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting the Head Chef with menu preparation and ensuring all required supplies are available for service.
• Preparing and cooking food for a variety of events and conferences.
• Ensuring kitchen standards are upheld, including food presentation and portion control.
• Monitoring stock levels and maintaining stock rotation procedures.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and ensuring compliance with WHS standards.
• Supporting the team during busy service periods and assisting with junior staff.
The successful candidate will have:
• A trade qualification in cooking or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar role.
• Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• A passion for food and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative work ethic.
• Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
