Nic and Kolo is a busy cafe in the Applecross Village with an Asian Fusion menu and specialty coffee. We are open 7 days a week from 7am to 3 pm and Wednesday to Saturday 430 pm to 830 pm. Nic and Kolo is a fully licensed cafe. We have recently opened a new concept for dinner take-aways and we need to expand our team.
We are looking for a Full Time Café Manager and a Barista, both with strong experience in hospitality roles and a strong focus on great customer service.
The ideal candidates will have the responsibility for serving all products with friendly and individualised attention towards each customer. The Manager will be responsible to lead our friendly Front Of House team.
Both positions require the following skills and responsibilities:
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer service
- General day to day restaurant duties
- Money handling/Eftpos and POS system experience
- Opening and closing procedures
- Flexibility with shifts including working on weekends and nights
- Ensure compliance with all OH&S and management of shift staff.
- Maintain stock inventories including coffee beans, milk, cakes and beverages
- Desire to succeed and focus on continuous improvement of existing practices, as well as, assisting in the implementation of new business practices
- Maintain the presentation and appearance of the cafe and promote a fun working environment
- Adhere to customer needs and complaints
- Enjoy the challenge of building the business and motivating the team.
- Have or be willing to obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
In addition to the above, the Cafe manager shall have the additional attributes
- Must be able to lead a team and also work autonomously as required.
- Have an Approved Manager certificate
- Barista Experience is an advantage
In addition to the above, the Barista shall have the following attributes:
- Barista experience with a minimum of 3 years
- Maintain the coffee machine and associated equipment and be able to troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance and call for repairs if required.
Required experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in hospitality
