We are The Stirling Arms Hotel, a large independently owned pub in the historic town of Guildford, right on the doorstep to the beautiful and popular Swan Valley, only 20 minutes from the Perth CBD. We are passionate about providing great food and drinks, and want to steer the pub into becoming a great local corner pub that showcases WA produce and other family owned businesses.

We're looking for a head chef who shares our love for good food and good times, and is ready to take the reins in the kitchen to help us elevate the culinary offering and lead the team through fast paced, high volume pub service.

We're looking for like minded people who are looking to come on a journey as we start to grow, and will be focusing on finding the right people to join the team. We offer flexible rostering including the option of a 4 day working week.

We’re aiming to offer our guests a great standard of Aussie pub food as well as delicious pizza from our new gas and wood fired dome oven in the beer garden.

Some of the responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, from weekly prep lists to fast paced service.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Mentor and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ordering and supplier relationships 
  • Kitchen cleaning procedures and schedules
  • Rostering and labour control 
  • Menu creation and costings
  • Working with dedicated hands-on owners 

A bit about you:

  • 2+yrs experience as a head chef
  • Passionate, positive, organised, calm under pressure & quality-focused.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and overseeing kitchen management
  • Previous experience in fast paced, high volume kitchens 
  • Customer first mentality with the ability to motivate and lead your team
  • Ready to hit the ground running as we start to prepare for summer
  • Experience writing and costing menus
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to keep your cool when the kitchen heats up
