ABOUT THE ROLE
The position of the Kitchen Hand & Cleaner is to ensure the safe preparation, storage, and service of all food items whilst also demonstrating effective time management in cleaning, follows schedules, interacts appropriately with residents, respects their lifestyles, and maintains strong interpersonal relationships.
This position is a Permanent Part-time role offering 48 hours per fortnight doing split shifts working at our Peter Arney Home in Salter Point.
Week 1:
Monday: 0700-1200 & 1530 – 1900
Thursday: 0700-1400 & 1530-1900
Friday: 1530-1900
Week 2:
Monday: 0700-1200
Wednesday: 0700-1400 & 1530-1900
Thursday: 0700-1400 & 1530-1900
Please note, days/hours are not flexible - you must be able to commit to all days/shifts to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Hand:
· Prepares and plates food, serves and clears away meals in line with food preparation schedules.
· Ensure client meals comply with regulatory food safety standards and meet nutrition and presentation requirements.
· Maintains the food preparation and serving areas to state hygiene standards.
· Maintains appropriate resident interactions in line with the organisational values.
· Considers resident lifestyles and personal choice.
· Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with others, utilising appropriate channels for assistance guidance and concerns.
Cleaner:
· Demonstrates competent time management techniques in cleaning routines
· Vacuums, sweeps, dusts and mops all designated areas
· Follows cleaning schedule
· Maintains appropriate resident interactions in line with the organisational values
· Considers resident lifestyles and personal choice
· Maintains effective interpersonal relationships
Essential Criteria:
· Evidence of COVID-19 and Current 2024 Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
· Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
· Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
· Willingness to attend a paid 1-day (Monday) induction at our Rivervale Training Institute
· Previous kitchen / food preparation / cleaner experience within the aged care industry.
· Certificate in cooking, food preparation. (Desirable)
· Proven organisational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as required.
· Demonstrated good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
