We are currently looking for a Flexible Kitchen Hand who is willing to take on additional responsibilities in cleaning and laundry as part of their daily duties

About the Location

Aegis Hilton Park has been designed to offer a broad range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 136 residents in five wings.

Hilton is a suburb surrounded by water from nearby lakes, rivers and the sea. We have used this water connection to name each of the areas, or wings, after local and southwest rivers. From north to south there are Swan, Canning, Serpentine, Murray and Blackwood. Aegis Hilton Park is an 'ageing in place' facility and both high and low care accommodation is available in all areas. Blackwood offers specialist dementia care.

Accommodation comprises both single and double rooms with a large en suite bathroom and air conditioning. The different areas, or wings, all have lounge and dining areas as well as access to extensive gardens and patio areas.

About the role

As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

You should possess the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • A knowledge of food safety.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
