About Amberley


Aegis Amberley has been designed to offer a broad range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 111 residents in four wings. Accommodation comprises of single and double rooms with a large ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The different areas or wings all have lounge and dining areas and access to our courtyard areas.



As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.


A working day will involve:



  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.

  • Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.

  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.


You should ideally be an empathetic person who:



  • Enjoys working with the elderly.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team.

  • Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.

  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.

  • Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.


You should possess the following:



  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).

  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.

  • A knowledge of food safety.

  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
