Job Description:
As a Sous Chef, you will be the second-in-command in our state-of-the-art kitchen, following the guidelines and standards set by our esteemed management. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the satisfaction of our discerning guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
- Produce visually stunning and delicious plates that reflect our commitment to luxury dining.
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and in a timely manner, meeting our stringent quality standards.
- Conduct research and develop seasonal menus, complete with food costing proposals for stakeholders.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise, taking control of challenging situations with poise.
- Manage, train, and assess kitchen staff, establishing schedules and maintaining high performance standards.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies as needed, and ensuring effective food cost management.
- Enforce and comply with all sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with coworkers and guests alike.
- Conduct training in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Utilize various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) to optimize kitchen processes.
- Enforce strict health and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and finalize menus.
- Ensure the adequacy of supplies at all cooking stations, always keeping essential ingredients readily available.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing content in collaboration with the marketing department.
