Cafe Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Café Manager to support our lively little Café in Ashby. As Café Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, staff development, community engagement and Social Media activity. Our ideal candidate should have a passion for making GREAT Coffee, but also possess the skills and understanding of how to effectively lead a team, develop their skills & drive a great team culture. The key focuses of this role are to increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and help to nurture our cafés local reputation. The rostered hours will include weekends and public holidays.

The coffee House is a privately owned small local business with a loyal customer base. We won the 2023 Tobys estate OCTOBYSFEST Local Legends award and have had substantial growth over the past few years, with trade up 18% for the 2024/25 FY. Our food offering includes a variety of cabinet easy grab food items which are all house-made; including rolls, wraps, toasties and sweet treats. The kitchen operates between Thursday and Monday Cooking Breakfast and Lunch and supplying catering through our online portal.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the café
• Training and developing new staff
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers  
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our local reputation
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with occupational health and safety standards and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role 
• Hands on experience making coffee in a large volume environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate
• A passion for coffee and hospitality
• Food Safety Hygiene Certificate
