MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stock control for Kitchen operations
  • Quality control of meals being served to customers
  • Back of house rostering and staff management
  • Developing menu offerings in conjunction with management
  • Ensure kitchen meets all required health, safety and other regulations
  • Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
  • May select and train staff
  • May freeze and preserve foods
  • Any other tasks deemed suitable by management
  • EXPERIENCE

  • Previous chef experience, Cert III and 2 years work experience or at least 3 years relevant experience (required)

  • To be defined with management on an ongoing basis
