The Role

As the Chef, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation of a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Catering for large numbers in this busy work stay site
  • 14 days on with shift rostered between breakfast and dinner service
  • Adhere to all HSE policies, procedures & safe food handling practices.
  • Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, special requests)
  • Management of stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen, equipment and utensils
  • Create dishes of high quality that will nourish and delight our guests.
  • Fast, effective service provided with a smile
  • Assist in overseeing all kitchen employees, including training and performance development.

About You

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous Chef experience catering to large numbers in a work stay village or similar environment
  • Commercial Cookery Cert 3 qualification
  • Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management
  • Proven experience in planning and developing menus
  • Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Ability to prep and organise ahead 
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
  • HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene     
  • Flexibility to work a 14/7 roster
  • Current drivers license.
