Discovery Parks Onslow is a busy property offering accommodation and dining for large numbers of work stay guests. Tourists can avail of the powered sites, pool and well equipped camp kitchen.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, a lead the team in the day-to-day operation of a commercial kitchen.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Constructing menus and creating nutritious dishes ensuring variety and quality.
  • Calculating costs and liaising with suppliers.
  • Overseeing the food preparation, cooking and cleaning processes
  • Adhere to all HSE policies, procedures & safe food handling practices.
  • Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, special requests)
  • Management of stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen, equipment and utensils
  • Lead the kitchen team including training, management and development

About You

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous Senior Chef experience and cooking in a similar environment 
  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management
  • Proven experience in planning and developing menus
  • Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Ability to prep and organise ahead 
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
  • HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene     
  • Current drivers license.
