A Kitchen Hand at Brother of Mine is a naturally positive, outgoing, organised, efficient and professional people person. You will have a flexible working schedule with availability mornings and weekends.
Job Purpose
Your purpose as a Kitchen Hand is to maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and scullery. You will ensure the kitchen equipment is well stocked, clean and prepared for busy periods.

Safety: Safe work practices are vital in this role. You should have competent knowledge in the safe operation of all dishwashing machines, products and equipment and will have the ability to work with a safety-first mentality.

Efficiency: You must be able to recognise equipment cleaning priority according to utility at a fast and consistent pace.

Organisation: You understand the importance of a clean and tidy workspace and the impression it leaves on our guests. A well-organised space will give you clarity and efficiency in busy periods. You must also be able to innovate and establish new systems to improve efficiency of your space according to needs of your team.
Key Performance Indicators

Cleanliness: As you develop in your role, the improvement in attention to detail and organisational skills will be evident through cleanliness and tidiness of all kitchen, waste disposal, dishwashing and storage areas within the cafe.

Flow: In time you will understand the flow of the cafe and you will become more in tune to identify and introduce new systems. This will help you complete tasks more quickly and efficiently. You will be able to identify and correct problems before they arise.
Pay Scale
Different levels of pay are associated with the roles of Introductory Kitchen Attendant, and Kitchen Attendant Grade 1-3, each requiring a different level of experience and expertise.
