The Role

As an experienced Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes and upholding our standards of food preparation and presentation. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help produce unforgettable dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

  • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all menu items to maintain high standards.
  • Work closely with Head Chef to manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a consistent and strong relationship with the Front Of House team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cost control measures, manage stock control, and handle ordering.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef
  • Exceptional cooking and presentation skills
  • Formal trade qualifications (Certificate III in commercial cooking or equivalent) - Essential
  • Australian Drivers licence or International drivers licence - Essential
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working at Lake Argyle. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time. This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
